Hi folks

Just thought I should share with you that I have managed to spot my first reptile of the year.

10th January 14.55pm - spotted an adult male with young (unsexed) individual basking within a sun spot on a pile of wood and debris covered with grass. Location - Eastleigh, Hampshire

Air temp - 8 to 12C light wind (less than 2mph) with no cloud cover 0/8 and quite sunny - after heavy rain on previous days.

A photo will be posted soon

Hi Robert

A record of this sighting would be great Robert - EARG email - essex_arg@hotmail.com

If you have any historic data for your sites in Epping then this would also be appreciated

Hooray had a result  as the sun was out today at 230pm decided to have look on the local housing estates road side embankment  within 3minutes of looking I spotted three  + another three .Plus I managed to photograph three  different ones, one sun bathing upside down on a trunk of a sapling and one on  what looked like abit of sandstone but was browned polysterine not dopy these council estate lizards. Well I could not have asked for anything more to test out my new digi camera  the sitings all happened within 10 15 minutes, I go to super isolated  heathland and see nothing and on some tatty council estate roadside  bank is teeming with life!.I am not to sure how to send the pics on line yet so need some instructions.  keith

Wooooah Keith!! Well done, no lizards out in my garden today, temps just didn't quite get there at all and you got 6!

Picture posting help is at:

As you are new to the forums, I should let you into a secret - I have to be fed regular pictures or I get upset, so post some up as soon as you can

Frustratingly Gemma, my digital camera has just decided to pack up so my planned pictures of the Branksome Podarcis in the next day or two is now sadly a non-starter!

Great. Cornard near where? I grew up in Glemsford  You'll have to look along that river Stour and let me know if there are still any grass snakes.

I'm sure you'll sort out the pictures

Damn! I looked around there for years and never saw a grass snake! Was it at the bottom of Church Hill or further along towards the lower road? Of course the Pits are a different story, I couldn't help spotting grass snakes there
